You helped me understand why a suggestion that I read, "Sit in a sunny window and watch the streams of dust-filled light that sparkles as it moves through the light," resonated with me. I tried it out and sat, petting my little dog, and just felt the warmth and watched the sparkles. It was calm and restful, and I felt recharged afterward. I will keep practicing! Thank you.
That truly sounds like a beautiful moment! ✨ There’s something magical about simply watching and observing — light shifting, dust dancing, warmth settling in. So often, we overlook these tiny, everyday wonders in the rush of life. And those could be priceless. We love that you gave yourself the space to just sit, feel, and recharge. Thank you for sharing your point of view, and may only more little moments of stillness find you!
You put in perfectly words something I’ve been feeling lately, how anxious social media and digital life has making me feel, but I work with it, is the way we are used to live now, submerged in our phones that I been struggling with the uncomfortable feeling of my body and mind of doing nothing. As I can see now, after reading your column, is an inner compass, so I let it stay next time.
Thank you, so glad it resonated with you! And we hear you on that one. The way we live today — constantly connected, endlessly scrolling — makes true stillness feel unnatural, even unsettling. But as you’ve so beautifully put it, that discomfort can be a compass rather than something to resist. The more we let boredom sit with us, the more clarity and presence we regain. 🌿 Wishing you more moments of quiet discovery ahead! Thank you for sharing your story and being a part of our community. 💙
I keep thinking I should start an analog club, where we do things slowly, in real life, with other people, using materials like paper and pens, we can read books, make zines, share ideas.
Love this post and I will keep it top of mind next time I am bored!
Such a great idea! Analog all the way! We also recommend checking out https://substack.com/@analogsocial for more analog opportunities in real life, maybe you could attend some offline events they organize :) For the rest, especially taking things slow, we always welcome you to our community ☀️ Thanks for reading and sharing some nice words, stay bored haha!
