Exploring the thrilling world of Ferrari: from iconic cars to watches, culinary delights and beyond...
Welcome back to another edition of Slow Letter! ☀️
Today, we’re diving into a topic that’s hard to cover in just one newsletter edition, but the opportunity is just too good to pass up. We’re talking about Ferrari. They recently unveiled their latest car, which is a kind of tribute to the essence of motoring, and the most crucial aspect of it – the engine – we’ll probably see for the last time in this type of car. When you think about it, there’s probably no brand in the world that’s more associated with excitement, dreams, and beauty than Ferrari.
To celebrate this special premiere, we’ve prepared some materials for you, serving as a ticket to this amazing world, which we’ll surely visit again in the future. And for those who aren’t interested in this topic (how dare you?!), we have a few other recommendations from a completely different world at the end.
Enjoy, and see you on Saturday!
Buckle up! We're heading to the world of Ferrari
✻ Engage in a chat with any avid car lover, and you’re bound to catch wind of their concerns about the fading presence of the 12-cylinder engine, a lament that appears to have persisted for what feels like an eternity. Yet, it seems the minds behind Maranello remained blissfully unaware, unveiling a magnificent V12 grand tourer. Allow me to introduce the awe-inspiring Ferrari 12Cilindri, or as they prefer to call it, the “Dodici Cilindri”.
✻ Ferrari always has to be “the” best. It turns out, not only in the context of cars. What brand is associated with the thinnest automatic watch in the world? Of course, Ferrari. In collaboration with Richard Mille, the RM UP-01 watch is the result of years of effort, countless prototypes, and over 6,000 hours of development and testing.
Yes, what you see in the picture below is indeed the profile of their watch.

✻ When discussing Italian matters, we can’t overlook the culinary aspect as well, so we’ll show you a unique restaurant with Ferrari history in the background. Cavallino has been pivotal to Ferrari’s history, symbolizing the company’s strong ties to the region forged through enduring relationships and friendships. It has witnessed celebrations and daring challenges by the Scuderia. Initially serving as the company canteen when Enzo Ferrari acquired the land, it officially became Ristorante Cavallino in 1950. At this venue, Ferrari engineers would casually join their close friends and collaborators for lunch, occasionally catching Formula 1 Grands Prix together on weekends. Over the years, esteemed figures like Prince Bernard of Holland, Princess Liliana de Réthy of Belgium, and three-time world champion driver Jackie Stewart graced the tables, alongside Ferrari Team drivers and technicians. Notably, in 1981, Bernie Ecclestone and Jean-Marie Balestre laid the groundwork for the Formula 1 Concorde Agreement here, later returning in 1987 to discuss new competition rules directly with Enzo Ferrari himself. At the meeting’s conclusion, they famously told him:
“Engineer, you write the rules.”
✻ Until recently, it was the most expensive car in the world ($51.7 million). For many, it’s considered the most beautiful car ever made. Let’s be honest – Enzo Ferrari never liked to be second, so it’s very possible that in some perspective, the mentioned model will return to the top. We wish him that! And to the current owner as well, as we revisit the auction history of the Ferrari 250 GTO.
✻ Apart from food and cars, what else mustn’t be missing from Italian tales? Fashion, of course! It just so happens that Ferrari has also decided to delve into this realm.
